Subject: Everywhere you turn you see the image of King Bhumipol. He is on coins, on pictures in people's houses (even in the Hilltribes!), on money, and on huge billboards around the city. He is incredibly loved. Insulting the king is a crime and even if it weren't, I can't think of a more culturally insensitive thing to do in Thailand.
